Mayor Joe O’Brien and Superintendent Dr. Melinda Boone to speak at the Worcester Advisory Food Policy Council’s Hunger-Free & Healthy Grant Announcement Mayor Joe O’Brien will join Superintendent Dr. Melinda Boone at the announcement of continued funding for the Worcester Advisory Food Policy Council’s Hunger-Free & Healthy project on Monday, February 22nd at 3:00 PM. They will each address the accomplishments of Hunger-Free & Healthy, highlighting the success of the Worcester Public Schools in reducing hunger and increasing healthy eating in the school system. The accomplishments of two Worcester Public School staff will be highlighted. John Trainor, Facilitator of the Night Life Programs and the Community Schools Programs, has been instrumental in the implementation of the Operation Front Line Cooking Classes and the Worcester Educational Garden, both of which are at the Fanning Building. Donna Lombardi, School Nutrition Director, has been the driving force behind increasing the amount of healthy foods and local produce being served in the Worcester Public School meals.
